The American Epilepsy Society—AES—is one of the oldest neurological professional organizations in this country. The Society seeks to promote interdisciplinary communications, scientific investigation and exchange of clinical information about epilepsy. Membership consists of clinicians, scientists investigating basic and clinical aspects of epilepsy, and other professionals interested in seizure disorders. This year’s annual report centers around three main themes of community, connection and commitment, and the brief text—supported by key visual statistics—highlights examples of the ways in which this commitment is put into action throughout the year—the tangible ways in which the AES community lives their values. Brief testimonials punctuate the sections and add a human context to the content.
